For many years, the Potters Guild of British Columbia has wished to create an archive that could comprehensively capture the history and evolution of the Ceramic arts in British Columbia.

That ambition has now been realized. Welcome to the home of ARCH – BC, the Archival Records of Ceramic History in British Columbia, Canada.

The archival material made available to the public on this site has been collected by volunteers of the Potters Guild of British Columbia dating back to its formation in 1955.

The Guild is grateful to the Irving K. Barber Learning Centre at UBC for the grant which enabled the setup of this website. Thanks also go to the Northwest Ceramics Foundation and the Potters Guild of British Columbia for their contributions to the project.

We also acknowledge Vancouver based Artefactual Systems, the lead developer of ICA-AtoM, a fully web-based archival description application based on International Council on Archives (ICA) standards.

To start reading newsletters click on Archival Descriptions above and go into the Guild Fonds. You will see a menu on the right side. You can also search from the home page for specific names and places.
